Barry, a co-founder of Windward, has 26 years of
experience in mergers, acquisitions and corporate growth
in a broad array of industries. Prior to Windward, Barry
spent 7 years as a Managing Director with Legg, Mason
Merchant Banking "LMMB" (now known as Calvert Street Capital Partners), that managed over $360 million in
private equity and mezzanine capital. LMMB acquired
controlling interest in U.S. based lower middle market
manufacturing and business services companies and
provided mezzanine financing to similar types of
companies in which another private equity sponsors were
generally the lead investor. Prior to LMMB, Barry spent
10 years as a Senior Vice President and Senior Marketing
Officer with Fleet Capital Corporation (formerly
Barclays Business Credit and Shawmut Business Credit:
all of which are now part of Bank of America) as a
corporate lender providing leveraged, and merger and
acquisition financing for lower middle market companies
in the U. S., Canada and Europe. In 1986 he co-founded
Chesapeake Financial Corporation, a boutique commercial
lender, and earlier held corporate lending positions
with NCNB (now Bank of America).
Education:
B.A. in Business Administration from the University of North
Carolina-Charlotte Mergers & Acquisitions: Strategy and
Implementation Executive Program from the Darden Graduate School
at the University of Virginia
